This is a Boise, Idaho ad from around 1982. We had a store in Boise and in Seattle

This was the most expensive ad I ever ran in Backpacker Magazine in the Pre-Internet days in the mid 90s when you had to advertise or die. This is a bit larger than the actual quarter page in the magazine. The ad cost us about $4,000.00 to run for one issue! We made more packs per year back then. To Backpacker magazines credit, a free position in their Buyers guide more than made up for the cost of an ad - they were more generous than any other magazine in this regard.
